This kit essentially provides a conversion to 590S functionality, but in a more robust design. It contains our patented Universal Cartridge Adapter and low-drag no-snag Magazine Follower which allows smooth cycling of 1-3/4" Minishells up to 3" Magnum cartridges in the same magazine. The adapter is constructed from vulcanized thermoplastic rubber, and the follower is machined from solid 6061-T6 billet aluminum. This kit is compatible with any Mossberg 12-Gauge pump-action firearm with a 3" Chamber and machined grooves in the receiver. Please refer to the picture below or the installation video below to confirm your firearm's compatibility. Not compatible with 590R.
Please note there may be a short break-in period for some adapters after installation. Cycle a few magazines of full-size shells if you initially experience issues with 1-3/4" shells, please reach out to us if problem persists.
*The Cartridge Adapter and Magazine Follower are optimized to function as a pair, but the factory follower may function as well for those that do not wish to remove it.

I installed the mini-shell adapter in an old Montgomery Ward Western Field M550 (Mossberg 500) that I was rescuing, with the hopes I could keep it set up with a load my 90 lb wife could handle in a pinch. It was easy to install, and after cycling some dummy rounds through the shotgun, everything seems to be getting along perfectly!
Now I can mix Mini’s thru 3” at the same time. Install video made the conversion quick and easy.
This adapter is great in my shockwave.
While was a little tough to get the adapter seated so the trigger pack could be reinstalled, it's a better design than the "other" one out there.
I had use a heat gun to get the mag tube to break free to install the new follower. Unsure if it was loctite (probably was since it made a little puff of smoke) or just 35 years of corrosion between the parts. I ended up changing the old follower spring with a new wolff +5% spring while I had it apart so that was a perfect excuse to change it too.
Overall, the process was straight forward. The design is good and your videos were also helpful. With a combination of mini slugs and full size buckshot that I'm using, increased the capacity while still allowing me to load as much lead in the gun as possible. Thanks !!!
Up until now, my Shockwave had mostly been a good idea that sat in my closet. Even though I wanted to like shooting it, I must confess that after a few 2 3/4 or 3" shells, I would put it away. After installation (which was easy) of the mini shotshell adapter, it's like having a new gun. I have shot so many mini shells that I had to go to the gunstore and buy more. The adapter is a great addition to the Shockwave.
