This kit essentially provides a conversion to 590S functionality, but in a more robust design.  It contains our patent-pending Universal Cartridge Adapter and low-drag no-snag Magazine Follower which allows smooth cycling of 1-3/4" Minishells up to 3" Magnum cartridges in the same magazine.  The adapter is constructed from vulcanized thermoplastic rubber, and the follower is machined from solid 6061-T6 billet aluminum.  This kit is compatible with any Mossberg 12-Gauge pump-action firearm with a 3" Chamber and machined grooves in the receiver.  Please refer to the picture below or the installation video below to confirm your firearm's compatibility.  

Please note there may be a short break-in period for some adapters after installation.  Cycle a few magazines of full-size shells if you initially experience issues with 1-3/4" shells, please reach out to us if problem persists.  

*The Cartridge Adapter and Magazine Follower are optimized to function as a pair, but the factory follower may function as well for those that do not wish to remove it.

Mini Shell machine.

SUPER easy to follow the Defender Tactical videos for installation. I have yet to have a mini-shell malfunction after adding the adapter and mag follower. It's very nice not to remove a "plug" to get different size shells in the tube. Nice product!

mini shell adaptor works well!

Works as advertised. Two boxes of mini's cycled smoothly through my
Mossberg 500 12 ga., including mixed mini and larger shells.

Easy install and solid attachment

The mini shell adapter was easy to install and provides a more secure solution over the Mini Clip. The mini clip is wedged in and stays relatively secure until it gets jarred or dislodged. The Defender Tactical unit will not dislodge and allows the use of full size shells as well as mini shells.

The red follower slides smoothly and provides a red visual to let you know when the gun needs reloading. Overall, extremely satisfied with the product. Cycling was flawless and no malfunction was noted in my 50 round testing afterwards. Cycled the gun rapidly with a mix of mini and full sized shells. Worked perfectly. Highly recommend!

Great Solution

I installed the Defender Tactical adapter and follower in a Mossberg Shockwave. I tried a competing product in the past but found it less than optimal. The DT adapter has, so far, functioned smoothly and flawlessly with shell sizes of 1.75" and 2.75". Installation was easy. Get yourself one.
