It installed as I expected. Makes the gun look like new. I don't shoot any better but I look good a the rail.

Didn’t fit

I have a circa 1982 Mossberg 500 however, my 12 gauge is fitted with a vented barrel and a select choke. This bead thread was no where near long enough to engage the thread.
“Will not fit vented barrels” should be in the details to prevent future consumers from going through the disappointment of receiving a product that doesn’t fit.

Hi Jeffrey, sorry to hear the bead sight didn't fit your Mossberg 500. Others with vent rib barrels have reported that it fits, but it is possible your 45 year old gun might have a different thread, especially since it is not only a vent rib barrel, but also a select choke. We'll update the product details to include compatibility notes. Of course your purchase can be returned for a refund or exchange, no problem.

Highball front bead

This is the front bead that Mossberg should have installed in the first place. The barrel is tapered which places the standard Mossberg front bead lower than it should be. This results in shooting high. This taller front bead corrects that issue. Easy to install.
